DON'T BREAK MY APP — Privacy Policy

DON'T BREAK MY APP is a local-first Chrome extension that compares a saved working version of the active page with a later version.

Information processed locally

The extension captures page structure and element metadata needed for comparison, such as element type, visibility, position, size, link destination, image health, and disabled state. A supporting screenshot may be captured and stored locally with a saved baseline. Baselines and comparison results are stored in Chrome local storage.

The extension does not intentionally collect form contents or password values.

Optional analytics

Anonymous product analytics is optional and opt-in. If you choose Share anonymous usage, the extension may send events to PostHog using an anonymous installation identifier, a short-lived anonymous session identifier, the app version, and limited usage information such as counts, durations, status flags, and selected feedback categories.

Ordinary analytics does not send inspected page URLs or domains, page text, DOM contents, selectors, form contents, passwords, screenshots, copied report contents, regression report contents, free-text feedback, raw exception messages, or stack traces. Detailed feedback text and regression reports are not currently transmitted.

If you choose No thanks, analytics requests are not sent and the extension remains usable. Your analytics choice and anonymous identifiers are stored locally. Analytics failures do not prevent saving a baseline, checking a page, or copying a report.

PostHog may process network-level information, such as IP-derived location information, according to PostHog's own service and privacy practices. The extension does not intentionally collect inspected-site identity for ordinary analytics.
